I’ve been doing a lot of research the last couple of days on what my new blog design should have in it and who I should get to do my Blog Graphic Design. It’s been quite interesting reading all the different information that is out their about what your blog design should include and what it shouldn’t. What I thought I would do is put together a post that outline the keys that I think are importing when finding someone to do your Blog Graphic Design and what it should include.
Things to think about when getting a Design for your Blog
- Navigation. The number 1 thing your design needs is a good navigation. It needs to be easy to navigate and intuitive for the user. Don’t assume your readers know where to go and what to do, make it easy for them to find exactly what they want and need.
- The Psychology of Color. It’s important to know what colors mean what. When you are choosing the colors of your blog it’s going to be beneficial if you know what they mean, because it could be the difference between getting great conversion and getting no conversion at all.
RSS Subscription. One of the biggest benefits of using a blog is having a large subscriber base that gets notified of all your new posts. This is why alot of bloggers will have created a a special graphic on the right hand side of their blog that links to their RSS feed to help generate a large subscriber base. (For those that are wondering RSS stands for “Real Simple Syndication”)- Categories. Blog readers wanting to find information quickly need to be able to search your categories with ease and without confusion. Having your categories displayed in your design clearly will increase return readership as they know they can find what they want without a struggle.
- Make it Unique. The best Blog Graphic Design for your blog is going to be something that is unique to you. Everyone has different tastes in what they like in a design so don’t be upset if people don’t like your design, it’s natural. As long as you like it their is nothing to worry about.
