internet-marketing-foundationsToday I’m going to talk about building your Internet Marketing Foundations. Without building these foundations of your online business it has the potential to fall over. When your building your house, without a good, steady slab your house will be unstable and cracks will start to appear as you build up, the same goes for your internet businesses, without the right research your business will develop cracks that could (and will be) detrimental to you. Take the time to plan out your business and do the research behind what you want to do. As they say, “Time spent now, is money saved later“, and for me this cannot ring any truer.

Market Research

The most important thing that you can do when creating an online business is to do Market Research. Without it your business is more than likely to fail, only because you haven’t taken the necessary steps towards making sure that there are people out there interested in what you are selling/writing about. There are many different ways that you can do market research for your business. The most well know and practiced is Keyword Research but it is one of the later stages of Market Research that you should be doing, and definitely not the first!

Industry Choice

The very first thing you should do as part of your Internet Marketing Foundations is to choose an Industry that has got some commercial reality around it. What I mean when saying that is, you need to choose an industry that people are already making money from, you don’t want to be going into something completely new and trying to re-invent the wheel so to speak. If people are already making money off this particular industry there is no reason as to why you can’t as well. To see if something if commercially viable all you need to do is use Google Adwords Cost Per Click pricing tool to see what the Average CPC is. If it is over $2.50USD your industry is more then likely to be commercially viable.
