It has been awhile since I last blogged here. I’ve been quite busy developing 2 new sites that I’ve been working on (more about those to come).
Today all I wanted to do was just give you a quick update on what has been happening in the world of social media.
- JK Wedding Dance - A unique video of a couples entrance to their wedding. With getting over 12 million videos in the last day it has become on of the most popular videos on YouTube this week. The video uses the song “Forever” by Chris Brown as it’s sound track. This youtube video has increased sales of Forever on iTunes by 2.5%.
- FireFox - has hit 1,000,000,000 downloads this week. Not real social media news but one of the safest browsers has hit a rather huge milestone.
- Yahoo! joins with Bing - Bing is now powering Yahoo’s search engine, while Yahoo! still keeps the monetization side of the search engine.
- Myspace launches email - Myspace has just launched it’s own webmail service. So if you want a @myspace.com email address you can now get one. But really who is going to change from Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail for a Myspace email address? Maybe if Facebook brought a email service out it might be a different story.
- Ashton Kurtcher hits 3million - @aplusk hit 3 million followers earlier this week, but is anyone really counting and caring anymore about the numbers?
